The Science Park was set up with the active support of the National Council of Science Museums, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The Science Park, with a built-up area of approximately 4000 sq. m. houses the following facilities:

• Automobile Gallery,
• Energy Gallery,
• Fun Science,
• Climate Change,
• 3D Science Show Facility,
• Science Park, including Dino Corner,
• Taramandal (inflatable-dome planetarium)

Pimpri Chinchwad Planetarium is built in an area of about 1985 sq. m. It is one of the major attractions. The planetarium has the unique feature of a hybrid mode operation – digital as well as opto-mechanical. The seating capacity of the planetarium is 122. Duration of shows is 20-30 minutes. Different shows on different themes are showcased throughout the year.

The Science Park and Planetarium is a non-formal education institution to communicate developments in science and technology among the masses, and encourage creativity and the spirit of inquiry among students.

Overall the Pimpri Chinchwad Science Park and Planetarium, apart from providing an effective environment for non-formal science education is sure to enthuse and excite the people especially students of the region creating awareness on important issues in science, technology and engineering.
