About the place ...

The Radha Vrindavan Bihari Temple, located within the world-renowned Govardhan Eco Village in Galtare, Wada Taluka, is a divine abode blending spirituality, sustainable living, and timeless architecture. Established by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), this temple complex is often called Mini Vrindavan — a serene re-creation of Lord Krishna’s sacred land, Vrindavan. Spread across 100 lush acres of greenery, this spiritual destination radiates peace and devotion, drawing thousands of devotees and visitors seeking refuge from the stresses of modern life.

Govardhan Eco Village was envisioned by Radhanath Swami, a disciple of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder of ISKCON. Built around 2003 and inaugurated in 2011, it represents ISKCON’s mission of integrating spiritual awareness with environmental harmony. The village’s half-acre expanse is devoted to temples, while the other half includes cottages, meditation halls, Ayurvedic centers, and organic farms — nurturing both soul and nature.

At the heart of this sanctuary stands the Radha Vrindavan Bihari Temple, an architectural gem inspired by the ancient Nagara style. The grand temple is elevated on a stone platform and adorned with intricately carved pillars and mandapas illustrating episodes from Krishna’s divine play. The sanctum houses elegantly sculpted marble idols of Radha and Krishna, depicted in their eternal dancing posture, beautifully ornamented with traditional attire and jewelry. Surrounding the main shrine are the Radha Madan Mohan Temple, built from radiant red sandstone and towering almost 100 feet high, and the Gauranga Temple, dedicated to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the 16th-century saint who kindled the Vaishnava revival.

The temple surroundings mirror the sacred landscape of Vrindavan — featuring tranquil lakes, replicas of Gokul, Yamuna ghats, the Kaliya serpent pond, and sacred groves. The serene ambience, enhanced by fragrant flower gardens and sculptures depicting Krishna’s leelas, makes this a true pilgrimage for the mind and soul. Daily Bhagavad Kirtans, Vedic discourses, yoga sessions, Ayurvedic therapies, and the community kitchen (Annakshetra) offering free prasadam, ensure every visitor experiences holistic spiritual rejuvenation
