The Basveshwar Temple, constructed roughly 200 years ago, showcases classic Dravidian stonework and Veerashaiva traditions. The approach is marked by a fortified gateway and an imposing triple-tier lamp tower (Deepmala) decorated with floral and elephant motifs. Visitors pass a spacious three-storey entrance with lotus, foliage carvings, and a Ganesh lintel, flanked by square and octagonal pillars featuring lamp niches and crowned Nagarkhana with statues of Shiva, Parvati, Ganesh, Brahma, and Vishnu.

Beyond the gateway, a vast stone courtyard with resting areas leads to the temple’s main structure, which rises on an elevated platform guarded by brass tortoise and carved elephant railings. The Sabhamandap (prayer hall) and sanctum are adorned with lotus ceilings, beautiful side entrances, and rows of hanging chains and bells—a distinctive feature in Lingayat worship. Inside sits an impressive black-stone Nandi with silver horns and a radiant halo, symbolizing Basavanna’s spiritual embodiment as Nandi.

Above the temple rises a seven-tiered stone spire with Amalaka and Kalash finials—a hallmark of South Indian temple architecture. The temple grounds include dharmashala facilities, lush settings by the Hiranyakeshi River, and surrounding landscape for contemplation
