About the place ...
The mark of ancient times, caves in Khed showcase symbols of the Buddhist era on the engraved rock walls, the dome-shaped structure, and the small entrance. The vastness inside gives a rustic and refreshing experience to the visitor of this structure. The Khed caves is a series of ancient Buddhist caves in the small city of Khed, Maharashtra, India. There is a large Vihara, with three cells for visiting monks. An oblong chamber at back holds the Stupa. Four small less-maintained caves are also part of this complex.
The Stupa gives a calming and relaxing effect and meditating there is highly recommended. Vihara, a resting place, is carved with three rooms or quarters for the monks. As the name suggests, this Vihara is a very peaceful and quiet place
