Kondura Beach

Kondura Beach, located in Vengurla Taluka, is a small but incredibly scenic beach known for its unique natural setting and hidden charm. Tucked between hills and thick groves, Kondura Beach offers visitors a private, untouched slice of the Konkan coastline. The name “Kondura” is derived from the local word for “cave” or “bay,” indicating its tucked-in geography between rocky cliffs.

What makes Kondura Beach special is its semi-circular shape, golden sand, and the gentle waves of the Arabian Sea. This beach is rarely crowded, even during peak season, and is perfect for nature lovers, solo travelers, and couples looking for quiet time near the sea.

The beach is also home to the lesser-known Kondura Ganesh Temple, a sacred spot visited by locals. With a natural freshwater spring and thick vegetation nearby, the surroundings of Kondura are ideal for short nature walks and birdwatching. You may even spot local fishermen at work, pulling nets or returning with their catch—offering a glimpse into traditional Konkan life.

Since there are no major resorts, visitors often stay at home stays in nearby villages like Shiroda, Mochemad, or Aravali. These offer warm hospitality, seafood meals, and peaceful countryside views.

This beach is also a photographer’s delight during sunrise and sunset when the light paints the cliffs and water in beautiful hues.
