About Keshavsut Smarak, Malgund
As a tribute to poet Keshavsut, The Kokan Marathi Sahitya Parishad has built a memorial at his birth village, Malgund near famous destination Ganpatipule. The pioneer of Marathi poetry, Kavi Krishnaji Keshav Damale, famously known as Keshavsut, was a teacher by occupation. He wrote more than 100 poems and those are considered gems of Marathi poetry. His poetic sense was for generations & beyond
It is a well-preserved Building. The birthplace itself of the poet has well reserved itself. The Exhibition contains a statue depicting the most famous poem ‘Ek Tutari’. All the important poems are arranged for visitors to read. The library is set in the backyard and books by the poet are available for purchase. Along with a literature feast, this museum also displays copper utensils & goods. The place is well maintained by trees & plants & beautification works. It has very minor ticket charges
